Hey y´all!!

I love you to bits mami! Thank you for EVERYTHING…you´re a true sista…God willing, I´ll see you soon…kiss my bubbas everyday until I get there 😉 Have a Blessed day xxx

Today I woke up with Arthur Conley´s ´Sweet Soul Music´ in my head & thought it fitting for today´s entry!

To be honest, these last couple of days have been laid back & relaxed. Dad & I took a couple of days out of the office to chill at home with mum & lil man before we head off to Dubai next Wed.
Yes I KNOW I keep going on about it but I am maaaaad excited…this is a dream come true to be more specific! For those of you that don´t know, allow me to share my excitement with you…lol!!

I´m on stage with DJ David Craig after her!!

Also, more good news…as I said last week, I was able to watch & absorb the process of setting up a Production Company…what´s even nicer, is that I am a partner in the company! Yesterday´s insight was design & brand related…it´s all exciting stuff!! Not much longer til the launch 😉

Thank you all for supporting my friend Davina Elliott who is shaving off all of her hair TODAY for Cancer Research UK…she has achieved & exceeded her target of 1000 GBP!! There´s still time to donate y´all!!

Today´s throwback of the day is:

´Dub Be Good To Me´ – Beats International

Woooooiiiii!! Who remembers this one?!? 🙂
Beats International were on point with this track!! Aged 9, this song got my attention big time. The groove, vox & general ´freshness´ that it brought to the table showed me at an early age that the UK music scene was doing it´s thing in a big way…I still go mad when I hear this today!! 🙂

1. What do you do & how well do you do it?

I make music. How well i do my job depends on how it makes people feel. Does it move them in any way? If it makes them cry, or laugh or just think, then i am good. Technically, I work really hard at what I do. I am a multi instrumentalist so I need to practice quite a bit. I write as well and work most days to hone my craft and get better. I am good but constantly striving for greatness.

2. Where do you foresee yourself twelve months from today?

Interesting question. So much can change in a week or a day…twelve months?
I see myself making better music, doing shows, and I have been hired to train an actor for a major motion picture in playing the piano. If it happens, things could change greatly. If it doesn’t, I see more of the same…preparing for the next big thing.
I think it is really important to love what you do. One of my favorite lines of all times is Bobby McFerrin’s: “To those who have been trained by it, no discipline is pleasure at the time but painful.”
It may hurt a bit, but you keep pushing through the hurt to the BEAUTY.

3. What was one of the most memorable times in your life?

Oddly enough, it was the transition of my father from this life to the next. I was able to really be with him in his final years.
I had always made it a point to spend time with my parents but watching him move towards transition was really enlightening. He became so much more peaceful and insightful. He was always both of those things but they became magnified. You realize that life is about the people you love and nothing else really matters.
I just wanted to be with him and my mom and it was enough to sit there and hold his hand or rub his head and reminisce about life. I really miss him but feel his presence daily and live his words.

4. Given the resources, what one thing would you change in the world & why?

The change in the world I try to implement on the daily is kindness. It takes so little…just a word to someone who needs it…a touch, a phone call, a message. I have resolved to do at least one good deed a day for someone. It is easy to do for friends but harder for people you don’t care for…and it is free.

5. What do you think of my blog? (Message for my readers)

I love your blog!!!!! I love you and who you are and it represents that. Thanks for featuring me!!!!
