5mins 2 Shine
Today’s feature is: LEAH BENNETT
1) What do you do & how well do you do it?
What I do is create a positive “inner environment” so that I can bring the best me possible to my endeavors. I start with a sense of gratitude for EVERYTHING; although I am not employed at this time, I’m grateful for my talents as a writer/editor/communicator and the opportunities those skills create for me to follow my passions. I believe I do this VERY well because despite the “news” about the state of the economy etc., I refuse to let it derail my attitude of gratitude.
2) Where do you foresee yourself 12months from today?
Twelve months from today, I see myself in a loving relationship with a wonderful man and I see myself in an occupation that is fulfilling and pays VERY well!
3) What was one of the most memorable times in your life?
One of the most memorable times in my life was when my father was alive and we were all hanging out in New Orleans at my brothers’ house. They lived in a humble, historic section called Treme that was so alive with music and down home New Orleans flavor. Their house was around the corner from a tiny but lively bar called Little People’s Place and the local musicians were jamming some blues and second-line tunes. I danced with my Daddy for the first time since I was a little girl and he was so excited about us all being together. He had two left feet, but he was glowing the whole time.
4) Given the resources, what one change would you make in the world & why?
One change I would make in the world is how food is produced and distributed. There’s no need for hunger ANYWHERE! I would change the profit-driven focus of food that is killing us and fattening the pharmaceutical industry; I would do this because so much dis-ease in our world can be traced to what we’re eating and how we’re eating it. I believe healthier food and food choices affect the way we think and develop. It’s easier to be at peace when you’re not constipated or malnourished.
5) What do you think of my daily blog? (Message for my readers)
I think your daily blog is AWESOME! I’m inspired by your tenacity and grateful for your insight!
